My name is Bailey Young. I'm from Piedmont, South Carolina and I am a rising senior at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. I will be graduating in 2010, majoring in Chemistry with a minor and emphasis in Computer Science and many Biology courses. I am currently working at Oak Ridge National Laboratory on the modeling of the Electrical Grid.
I have very much enjoyed this past year and all the new experiences that have found me. This is the first time that I've ever performed researched, I just recently lived in Copenhagen, Denmark for 4 months, and my last summer job was spent working with kids with disibilities at a local summer camp.
I cannot wait to see what the future holds and to see how this research experience brings me opportunities in the future.
I would like to especially thank my mentors for the opportunity to work on this project and for their patience with me over the summer. I would also like to thank Dr. Angela Shiflet for her help and continued support. I would finally like to thank Debbie McCoy, who made provisions for this research experience.
